Beach University. Winter Season 2026

The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Montenegro continues the “Beach University” programme – Winter Season 2026.

Participants combine vacation with study. For a week (or longer) you live at a villa on the Adriatic coast, study with our best lecturers and spend time with like‑minded people.

This season the programme includes three weeks:

19–25 January – two parallel schools:

1) City as Sign: Artefact, Visual Culture and Place Identity (Prof. Alexey Shklyanko)

2) Hypothesis of Linguistic Relativity: Does Language Determine Thought? (Prof. Alexander Piperski)

26 January – 1 FebruaryPsychiatry and Literature: Texts, Emotions, Diagnoses (Prof. Konstantin Bogdanov, Prof. Iosif Zislin)

2–8 FebruarySociology of Time: Rhythms of Social Life (Prof. Viktor Vakhshtayn)

  • Classes are held in small, comfortable groups.
  • Age does not matter – we welcome everyone from 18 to 120.
  • Lecturers are nearby and devote all their time to the group.
  • The programme is exclusive and developed specifically for Beach University.
  • You can choose one or several weeks.

Classes and accommodation at Villa Monaco on the seafront (Rafailovići, Budva).
The price includes accommodation, tuition, breakfast and lunch.
Working language: Russian. Small‑group format.

About the programme

Several hours a day are devoted to intensive immersion in the topic you choose; the rest of the time is for the sea, walks, conversations and shared trips.

In the winter 2026 season our lecturers are designer Alexey Shklyanko, linguist Alexander Piperski, philologist Konstantin Bogdanov, psychiatrist Iosif Zislin and sociologist Viktor Vakhshtayn.

Tariffs

(per person for one week)

1) Single room

730 EUR

Includes:

  • Accommodation in a single room at Villa Monaco;
  • Breakfasts and lunches;
  • Classes according to the programme (at least 20 academic hours per week).

2) Double room

560 EUR

Includes:

  • Accommodation in a double room at Villa Monaco;
  • Breakfasts and lunches;
  • Classes according to the programme (at least 20 academic hours per week).

3) Without accommodation

300 EUR

Includes only tuition.

Additional expenses:

Transfer: 40–60 EUR.

Discounts

For early registration (before 1 November 2025) – 5% discount.

For participants of previous Beach University seasons – 10% discount.

* A prepayment of 50% of the cost from bank accounts outside the Russian Federation is required by 15 December 2025.
** Payment is made in euros to the account of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences (Montenegro). Payment in roubles is possible on individual request.
