Beach University. Summer Semester

Enroll

The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Montenegro continues the “Beach University” programme – now in a new campus at the mountain resort of Kolašin.

Participants combine vacation with study. We offer a week (or more) living at a villa in the mountain resort, studying with our best lecturers and spending time with like‑minded people.

This season there are two schools:

2–8 June – joint school Sociology of Technology and Anthropology of Psychiatry (Prof. Viktor Vakhshtayn, Prof. Iosif Zislin).

9–15 June – Media School (Prof. Kirill Kharatyan and investigative journalists).

  • Classes are held in small, comfortable groups.
  • Age does not matter – we welcome everyone from 18 to 120.
  • Lecturers are nearby and devote all their time to the group.
  • The programme is exclusive and developed specifically for Beach University.

We invite participants to combine vacation with education

About the programme

In June 2025 the Beach University summer schools will take place at two locations: FLAS classrooms in Budva and the new mountain campus in Kolašin. Together with our lecturers and students we continue to explore Montenegro – from the coast to the mountains.

At Beach University, participants combine vacation with study: they live in a villa, study with our best lecturers and spend time with like‑minded people. Several hours a day are devoted to intensive immersion in the chosen topic; the rest of the time is for walks, conversations and trips.

This semester we are joined by sociologist Viktor Vakhshtayn, anthropologist and psychiatrist Iosif Zislin, and journalist Kirill Kharatyan, with leading investigative journalists joining online. Lecturers spend all their time with the students, so classes naturally turn into informal communication.

The summer schools are a good way not only to experience the atmosphere of free education, but also to decide whether Liberal Arts education in Montenegro is right for you or for your relatives and friends. If you have been thinking about applying to FLAS, you can test the format at Beach University – or simply come because it is interesting.

Registration is via the online form or by email: hello@liberalarts.me.
